“Soak”

“Soak”
“Soak” time-lapse video

No money was made in the making of this video using Holy Water song by We The Kingdom & Tasha Cobbs Leonard. I do not own the rights.

Check out the music video for “Holy Water” Amazing!!

I could not find a song for this video. After a couple days of looking my husband leaned over and said I’ll pray for you. He doesn’t pay out loud too often so it was really special. Minutes later this song popped up on YouTube. Amazing!

This song is all about forgiveness and grace. Both have really transformed my life in the last few years. Forgiving myself and others quickly and often is the key to the door that leads to freedom. Freedom from resentment, anger, bitterness and ego. Forgiveness brings a kind of peace that helps you go on with life. Jesus taught Peter to forgive others 7×70 times in a day.

In the song Holy Water they sing “I don’t want to abuse your grace.”

“Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it? Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death? For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives. For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:1-4, 7‬ ‭NLT‬‬
https://www.bible.com/116/rom.6.1-4,7.nlt

Because we have been forgiven for our sins does not mean we can freely sin over and over again knowing God will forgive us. God’s grace is not an open invitation to keep on sinning.

I titled it “Soak” because when we immerse ourselves in the Word of God it strengthens us. Soaking our minds in scripture everyday til it’s overflowing into every area of our life. When tempted with something wrong or evil we will have a Spirit influenced response.

“That He might sanctify and cleanse [you] with the washing of water by the word” (Eph 5:26 NKJV).

“Going under the water was a burial of your old life; coming up out of it was a resurrection, God raising you from the dead as he did Christ. When you were stuck in your old sin-dead life, you were incapable of responding to God. God brought you alive – right along with Christ! Think of it! All sins forgiven, the slate wiped clean, that old arrest warrant canceled and nailed to Christ’s cross.” Colossians 2:12-14 MSG

“He reached down from heaven and rescued me; he drew me out of deep waters.”
‭‭2 Samuel‬ ‭22:17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This is my experience. I felt like I was drowning in alcohol and both of my feet were stuck in concrete blocks of shame. I painted this screaming face to express the frustration and desperation I felt in my darkness. God called me by name and pulled me from deep waters. God rescued me and washed away my sins so that I could live again. God uses everything especially our brokenness for His good. He can turn our tears, pain and shame into gardens bursting with life, love and color! Experiencing Gods love and healing has made me want to live my life honoring Him. I am trying to be more disciplined and spend more time reading the Bible and sharing what I’ve learned.

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28:19‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I pray for everyone who is struggling with hurts, hang-ups and habits. There is hope and there is a better life. If you need help or need prayed for please visit my churches website down below.

New Work!!! The most amazing thing happened while working on these the last couple weeks!

“House of Faith” and “House of Healing” are inspired by the “House of Grace” I just created a couple weeks ago. I used this same song “That’s who I Praise” by Brandon Lake. In the song he mentions several people from the Bible including Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. I’ve heard the names before but I did not know the story until 2 days ago. That part of the song with the 3 names has been playing over and over in my head the last couple weeks.

2 days ago I opened my Bible randomly like I always do before I start creating right to Daniel 3, the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego!!

“Nebuchadnezzar said to them, “Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that you refuse to serve my gods or to worship the gold statue I have set up?”

‭‭Daniel‬ ‭3‬:‭14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

But they get thrown in the firey furnace and don’t get burned up so the king was convinced of God’s goodness and ordered the empire to worship Him instead of their former false gods and idols.

Absolutely incredibly!! These are not accidents!! God is speaking to us through his living word!

The numbers on these paintings have so much meaning.

#7 represents perfection, completion, rest, restoration, healing and fulfillment of promises. Jesus healed 7 people on the 7th day. The Lord’s Prayer contains seven petitions:

Hallowed be thy name; Thy Kingdom come; Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven; Give us this day our daily bread; Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; Lead us not into temptation; and Deliver us from evil.

I love digging deeper and discovering how God has weaved so many things together and reveals them to us at the perfect moment. I love exploring the symbolism and significance of numbers in scripture.

Prayer opens doors that lead to a relationship with God which leads to transformation, healing and eternal life.

I am looking forward to being with tomorrow at Hope+Elim to watch you paint live at the first combined worship service of Lutheran Church of Hope and Elim Christian Fellowship as the two congregations join togethe. Looks like the service will be live streamed on Facebook Hope+Elim page.
