This Is Why I Paint
I’m super excited to share what happened because of the Taste of Hope. My step daughter Natalie was with us staying for the week before she prepares to go to college. She got to experience the Taste of Hope for the first time. On the way home we were all talking about the day and the good food when Natalie said “I was sharing a few clips of you two painting on social media and a lot of my friends starting commenting that they wish their church did stuff like this.” She said, “It’s awesome because I didn’t realize so many people I know go to church!” Praise God!! Discovering this about each other has made their connection even deeper. She was then invited to go to church with a friend back where she lives while she waits to leave for college. Made me just cry and as I’m writing this I’m crying because Natalie and I have been working on our relationship since the very beginning. She didn’t have to share what her and her friends discovered with me but she did and that’s growth for us. Being able to share that experience together just brought us a little closer.
I have been praying for a breakthrough for a very long time. My alcoholism really messed things up for years, ruined all my relationships. But I thank God that 2 months from today I’ll be celebrating 3 years!!! By making the choice everyday to pick up my cross and follow Jesus opportunities like the Taste of Hope arise where I get to say YES to God and help spread the good news and people are responding to the message. My life has been completely transforming since the day I got reacquainted with Jesus. I am truly moved by how God works through it all. To witness Natalie and her friends revelation was extremely moving. That’s why I’ll continue to pray for God to use me. Keeping the faith and putting all my trust in God leads to a peace that passes all understanding no matter what’s going on in my life. I am so thankful for these opportunities to share this gift to glorify God.
Glory to God in the highest and peace to His people on earth! Thanks be to God!
