ABOUT THE BOOK
For years, Renae carried shame over the darkest parts of her story. Now, those are the very places God is using to bring hope to others. Holy Spirit kept leading her home.
Something Good Can Come Out of This is a raw glimpse into the chaos of a life spent running and the God who never stopped pursuing her.
With gratitude for every part of the story—even the parts she once wanted to hide—Renae shares it in hopes that someone else will find their way out of the darkness, lay down their shame, and believe that their story isn’t over. God is good. All the time.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Renae Zanella is a faith-led artist, author, speaker, coach, and entrepreneur who has lived the story inside this book. Her life has taken her through addiction, loss, grief, and straight into the wild, overflowing, unconditional love of Jesus Christ. He can use our gifts, our experiences, and even our detours for something greater than we could ever imagine. God is good. All the time.
Today, she uses her art, her words, and the truth of her own story to remind others that no life is too messy, too broken, or too far gone for God to redeem. God can use it all.
Raw and honest about the long, uneven road that led to her last drink, Renae believes there is purpose in telling the truth about where we’ve been and freedom in surrendering where we’re going.

Testimonials
“…she was not the storm that raged outside the hospital at her birth but the light that arrived in its midst.”
I have known Renae for most of her life, and reading Something Good Can Come Out of This allowed me to see her journey with new eyes. I was moved by her courage, honesty and witness to God’s redeeming love. At the heart of this memoir is Renae’s realization that she was not the storm that raged outside the hospital at her birth but the light that arrived in its midst.
She does not minimize the pain of addiction, grief, shame or tough choices. Instead, she brings them into the light and shows how God gathers life’s shattered pieces and transforms them into beauty, purpose and hope.
An artist who has learned to pray before she paints, Renae writes in that same spirit, allowing her hardest truths to become a light for others. I wholeheartedly recommend this memoir to anyone who has felt beyond hope and to every family member who has prayed, waited, loved and refused to give up.
Renae’s story offers the hard-won assurance that healing is possible, redemption is real, and no suffering is ever wasted in God’s hands.

“…a story filled with heartbreak, hope, unconditional love, and extraordinary faith.”
This book is a powerful reminder that no one is beyond redemption and that God’s grace can reach even the darkest places. From the very first pages, I was drawn into a story filled with heartbreak, hope, unconditional love, and extraordinary faith.
What makes this book so compelling is Renae’s willingness to share the messy, painful, and deeply personal moments that many people are too afraid to talk about. Through addiction, loss, shame, grief, and ultimately transformation, she beautifully demonstrates that our broken pieces are often the very places where God does His greatest work.
I was especially moved by the way she honors her mother’s legacy throughout the book. The love between mother and daughter shines on every page, serving as a testament to the power of faith, forgiveness, and never giving up on the people we love.
This isn’t just a memoir—it’s a message of hope. It’s a reminder that no matter how far you’ve fallen, how much you’ve lost, or how impossible your circumstances may seem, God is still writing your story.
The honesty, vulnerability, and faith woven throughout these pages will leave readers feeling seen, encouraged, and inspired to believe that something good can come out of their story too.

“As you read how God has redeemed her story, remember that he is redeeming yours!”
Renae does a wonderful and artistic job of sharing the depth of God’s love for her and for all people. The honesty that she uses to share her story invites the reader to look honestly at their own life. To see where God is already at work in their life to bring beauty and redemption out of things that the world may see as broken. As you read how God has redeemed her story, remember that he is redeeming yours!

“But by the end, I could feel the joy.”
As I read some of the first chapters of the book, I could feel it in my heart all of the pain. But by the end, I could feel the joy. Some of these stories I knew, and others hadn’t been told yet.
—Cody Forde, First Cousin and Grain Buyer
“Renae is someone who lives and writes with both courage and compassion, and that combination is rare.”
Renae is someone who lives and writes with both courage and compassion, and that combination is rare. Her authenticity, growth, and heart for people have already impacted so many, and this book will allow her encouragement to reach even more lives.
