“Soak”

“Soak”
“Soak” time-lapse video

No money was made in the making of this video using Holy Water song by We The Kingdom & Tasha Cobbs Leonard. I do not own the rights.

Check out the music video for “Holy Water” Amazing!!

I could not find a song for this video. After a couple days of looking my husband leaned over and said I’ll pray for you. He doesn’t pay out loud too often so it was really special. Minutes later this song popped up on YouTube. Amazing!

This song is all about forgiveness and grace. Both have really transformed my life in the last few years. Forgiving myself and others quickly and often is the key to the door that leads to freedom. Freedom from resentment, anger, bitterness and ego. Forgiveness brings a kind of peace that helps you go on with life. Jesus taught Peter to forgive others 7×70 times in a day.

In the song Holy Water they sing “I don’t want to abuse your grace.”

“Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it? Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death? For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives. For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:1-4, 7‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Because we have been forgiven for our sins does not mean we can freely sin over and over again knowing God will forgive us. God’s grace is not an open invitation to keep on sinning.

I titled it “Soak” because when we immerse ourselves in the Word of God it strengthens us. Soaking our minds in scripture everyday til it’s overflowing into every area of our life. When tempted with something wrong or evil we will have a Spirit influenced response.

“That He might sanctify and cleanse [you] with the washing of water by the word” (Eph 5:26 NKJV).

“Going under the water was a burial of your old life; coming up out of it was a resurrection, God raising you from the dead as he did Christ. When you were stuck in your old sin-dead life, you were incapable of responding to God. God brought you alive – right along with Christ! Think of it! All sins forgiven, the slate wiped clean, that old arrest warrant canceled and nailed to Christ’s cross.” Colossians 2:12-14 MSG

“He reached down from heaven and rescued me; he drew me out of deep waters.”
‭‭2 Samuel‬ ‭22:17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This is my experience. I felt like I was drowning in alcohol and both of my feet were stuck in concrete blocks of shame. I painted this screaming face to express the frustration and desperation I felt in my darkness. God called me by name and pulled me from deep waters. God rescued me and washed away my sins so that I could live again. God uses everything especially our brokenness for His good. He can turn our tears, pain and shame into gardens bursting with life, love and color! Experiencing Gods love and healing has made me want to live my life honoring Him. I am trying to be more disciplined and spend more time reading the Bible and sharing what I’ve learned.

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28:19‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I pray for everyone who is struggling with hurts, hang-ups and habits. There is hope and there is a better life. If you need help or need prayed for please visit my churches website down below.

Soak in Gods word everyday. Much love!

Canvas print from a live painting 3.31.24 @hopewdm 5pm Easter Service!

Our @hopecreativearts artist couldn’t make it to paint for the last service so with 40 mins notice to prepare I jumped for Jesus!!! This is in honor of my faithful mother Pat Jacobs @pj713 who loves Jesus with all her heart. Even as I started painting the woman became purple my moms favorite color. And she wanted to be remembered by butterflies.

I’m in awe of God and how he can make a way so spontaneously. That was the shortest notice I’ve ever had to paint live for worship. What a gift to have that opportunity to be completely inspired and obedient in the moment on the day that our Lord and Savior was raised from the dead.

Your name is power and healing! I’ll praise you anywhere and everywhere!

In the painting the woman represents the freedom, healing and power of renewing our minds with God’s word.

”Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.“

‭‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭2‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The sermon was based on the verses in John 20:1-8:

The Resurrection

20 Early on Sunday morning,[a] while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. 2 She ran and found Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved. She said, “They have taken the Lord’s body out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!”

3 Peter and the other disciple started out for the tomb. 4 They were both running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. 5 He stooped and looked in and saw the linen wrappings lying there, but he didn’t go in. 6 Then Simon Peter arrived and went inside. He also noticed the linen wrappings lying there, 7 while the cloth that had covered Jesus’ head was folded up and lying apart from the other wrappings. 8 Then the disciple who had reached the tomb first also went in, and he saw and believed.

Connie would be so proud of you, Renae. You are creating peace in the world that needs peace so badly. I am looking forward to being with tomorrow at Hope+Elim to watch you paint live at the first combined worship service of Lutheran Church of Hope and Elim Christian Fellowship as the two congregations join togethe. Looks like the service will be live streamed on Facebook Hope+Elim page.
