February 2012 I was the featured artist at the Ritual Cafe on 13th st downtown Des Moines, Ia. This was my first solo exhibit. My paintings were so much darker when I was drinking heavily. I look back at these pieces and it reminds me of a lot trials I was experiencing during those times. But my art was what I turned to for an escape. It always has been something that I can lose myself into and find healing. These days it has become more of a time that I talk to God about what’s on my heart.
