6 (1-2hr) creative prayer sessions

Many people were prayed for in the making of this art piece. With all the things going on in 2020 I was in a funk for about the whole month of August. I didn’t paint much and didn’t feel inspired I was actually feeling very low. I took a break from Facebook for awhile so I wouldn’t see the bickering or negative comments. I prayed a lot and asked God please guide me and use me. I asked Him to guide me through this challenging season. I had to stop worrying about the outcome of so many events that I have absolutely no control over.

I asked God how I could be apart of the solution? I leaned into God even more so. That is where I found peace again. Less distractions and more time sitting still outside in nature just breathing was healing and reenergizing. In my time of silence I heard the Holy Spirit tell me to pray, pray, and pray. Everywhere my mind went i saw an image of people with their eyes closed, pressed together cheek to cheek praying. EmbRacing each other. I soon had an art explosion and painted several pieces. I was in the flow and I let it go.

I started the painting with 3 crosses to represent the killing of Jesus Christ by crucifixion with thieves on either side of Him. His death was a testimony that salvation is a reality for all of us when we voice our faith.

“One of the criminals hanging beside him scoffed, “So you’re the Messiah, are you? Prove it by saving yourself—and us, too, while you’re at it!” But the other criminal protested, “Don’t you fear God even when you have been sentenced to die? We deserve to die for our crimes, but this man hasn’t done anything wrong.” Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.” And Jesus replied, “I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise.””
‭‭Luke‬ ‭23:39-43‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Jesus is a living lesson and the ultimate example of acceptance, love and compassion.

I let the Holy Spirit guide my every move throughout the 6 sessions I worked on this piece. Each creative prayer session lasted around 1-2 hours praying the entire time for healing and transformation in this world. I prayed for equality. I want to help bring awareness to one simple yet powerful truth, Jesus is Life. Jesus said “I am the way, the truth and the life.”

The LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you;

When we finally accept that we are all a work in progress it leaves nothing left to prove and no one to impress. Accept the process!
